Day One of my 3-day juice fast is almost in the books. I’ve had some ups and downs today, but I’m gonna keep going! Mike (my hubby) is doing really well. He’s doing things like putting TWO LEMONS in one glass. That is beyond tart and crazy. We tried a recipe that was supposed to taste like a spicy V8, but that failed. It consisted of
3 large Red Beets
2 medium Carrots
2 stalks Celery
4 Plum Tomatoes
1 Jalapeno, ribs and seeds removed
12 Red Radishes
I really thought the jalapeno would be too much, but it turns out it was the beets. Who in the world eats those things? Yuck. I describe the taste to Mike as “This tastes like how a garden smells.” Mike replied with “Like dirt?” – He was totally right. He blamed the beets as well.
I must admit to you, my readers and new accountability partners, that I did not work out today. I flirted with the idea all afternoon, but never found the motivation to do it. Heck, it took me until 4:00p.m. to take a shower, if that tells you anything. I kind of feel like if I burned any calories today, I’d burn everything I drank, but maybe that’s me trying to make excuses for it. Either way, tomorrow is a new day!
Thanks for going on this journey with me!
1) Don’t beat yourself up over not working out. Beginnings of juice fasts are very hard and sometimes it takes all your energy to just keep going.
2) Day 1 is always the hardest! Hang in there
Just as a side note, I’m doing my juice fast along with 25 other people and none of us started feeling much better until day 4-5. I know you only want to go 3 days but this is something to consider!
Oh dear. I want to feel better NOW. Lol.
